Miss Hmong 2005, Ashley Thao, happily handed over her throne
Wednesday to a 17-year-old Youa Yang. Ashley Thao, Last year's winner,
wore a tiara but she is no longer reigned, as Youa received a sparkling
crown and $5,000 at the Fresno Fairground. Youa, who lives in
Sheboygan, Wiscconsin., and arrived in the United States a year ago,
became Miss Hmong 2006. Youa appears to have won the judges with her
singing ability and her beauty.
